Hunting Park at a Glance
A Bit of Background
The Hunting Park Revitalization project is a multi-year community revitalization project for the entire 87-acre Hunting Park, located in eastern North Philadelphia. The project is designed to create a safer and more inviting park that is better equipped and will be able to offer increased programming for the community. While Hunting Park serves the community as a recreational resource, its full potential as a positive community asset and open space resource for healthy living are far from realized. Success of the Hunting Park Revitalization project will not only be tied to the capital improvements made to the park land and facilities, but will also be highly dependent upon the community’s active use and stewardship of the park. The creation of the Master Plan for the revitalization project provided a framework for the re-invigoration of community support directed specifically at the neighborhood park. Numerous partner organizations and neighborhood residents have come together in Hunting Park United to begin the process of developing strategies for community mobilization around the park. While Hunting Park  serves the community as a recreational resource, its full potential as a positive community asset and open space resource for healthy living are far from just that . Hunting Park is a park for all people.
